M19 : Delhi Capitals thrashed Virat Kohli's RCB by 59 runs
Its match 19 of Dream 11 IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Dubai. So far only one team has won batting second at this ground in this IPL. Its none other than CSK who demolished KXIP bowlers and won by 10 wickets. Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. Amit Mishra was injured so Axar Patel comes back in. RCB brought in Mohammed Siraj and Moeen Ali in place of Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Adam Zampa.
Delhi Capitals off to flier in powerplay. They scored 63 for no loss in first 6 overs. Prithvi Shaw was given the license to go after the bowlers. Shikhar Dhawan has the role of anchor and put away loose balls during his stay at the crease. Prithvi Shaw took 23 balls for his 42 runs which includes 5 fours and 2 sixes. RCB struck right after the powerplay when Siraj got rid off Prithvi on short ball. Dhawan got out to Udana at long on while trying to up the scoring. Shreyas Iyer is the most consistent batsman in this DC side. He got out to Moeen Ali when he tried to score a maximum over deep mid wicket, where calm and cool devdutt paddikal took a sensational catch going over the ropes before throwing the ball in the air and then come back in to complete the catch.
Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis finish off the innings with fours and sixes in final overs. Marcus Stoinis was the primary destructor in that partnership with Pant. Stoinis target all the bowlers of RCB and registered his second fifty of the season in some style. Stoinis scored 53 off 26 balls (6 fours and 2 sixes). Delhi Capitals scored 196 for 4 in their 20 overs.
Though CSK chased the target with ease the previous night but that pitch was different and the players who did that remarkable job was of different calibre. RCB needed a strong start from their openers. Paddikal has played some excellent knocks already for RCB and Aaron Finch is as destructive as any other batsmen on his given day. The target of 197 means one or two tidy overs and the run rate will rise up above 10 or 11. Delhi's catching is a issue which they need to fix in this IPL. So many players have dropped the catches for them. Aaron Finch got 2 lucky chances when Rabada let go a dolly and Shreyas missed a half chance which you would expect from him to grab at this level. Devdutt Paddikal got out to R Ashwin when trying to go over deep mid wicket where the fielder was waiting for the exact shot. The boundaries are big in Dubai and Paddikal's shot doesn't have that power. Finch got out to left arm spinner once again. AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli needed a partnership to have a chance in that run chase. Since it is a powerplay so ABD tried slogging impressive Nortje and the top edge was well taken by Shikhar Dhawan.
RCB lost 3 wickets already in the powerplay. They lost the match between ABD's dismissal and the wicket of Moeen Ali when they scored 32 off 37 balls. The required rate was soaring above 14 and DC have 3 overs of Rabada in bank. Shreyas Iyer brought back Rabada in 15th over and he finished innings with 4-fer. Rabada took 4 wickets for 24 runs which is his 3rd best figures in IPL history. RCB scored 137 for 9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 59 runs. This is RCB's second loss and second loss with big margin. Their net run rate is -1.355 which can become game changing if they stuck on 14 points.
