Rajasthan needed a solid start from their openers to chase this down easily. Everyone was waiting for the battle of R Ashwin and Jos Buttler in this match. The battle started in 3rd over and lasted for just 1 ball. Ravichandran Ashwin won the battle by picking up wicket of Jos Buttler. Buttler tried to slog Ashwin over square leg, but the inside edge went to the right of Dhawan where he took a good diving catch and the battle that the fans were waiting for since 2019 ended up early. Yashasvi Jaiswal was struggling to rotate the strike or hit boundaries and it added pressure on Steve Smith and Sanju Samson. Both the batsman got out in trying to up the scoring rate. Though young Yashasvi Jaiswal is only 19 but he made a mess here. He himself got out to Stoinis in trying to hit him over cow corner.

Rahul Tewatia bowled exceptionally well in first innings, fielded well and in the second innings batted well, but the short of partners at the other end means that he was left with bowlers. He had no choice so he took the game on but the task was out of his reach. Delhi Capitals bowlers kept chipping wickets at regular intervals. Rajasthan Royals fell short of the target by 46 runs. Another defeat means Rajasthan Royals are yet to win a game since their 2nd match. Ben Stokes maybe available for next match but without match practise will he be able to find the solutions of Rajasthan woes. Delhi Capitals once again proved to be a team to beat.
