The 28th match of the 13th season of IPL was won by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Virat Kohli-led RCB beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 82 runs in Sharjah on Monday night. Kolkata team, chasing the target of 195 runs, could only manage 112/9 runs in the prescribed 20 overs. AB de Villiers was the man of the match, who played an unbeaten 73 runs in 33 balls.

With this, Bengaluru won the 5th and now with 10 points, they are third in the points table. This was his seventh match. This was Kolkata's third defeat in as many matches. KKR slipped to fourth position.

The Kolkata team never recovered from the pressure ahead of the target of 195 runs. Apart from Shubman Gill (34), no top batsman could run. Tom Benton (8), Nitish Rana (9), Eoin Morgan (8) and Dinesh Karthik (1) returned cheaply.

Later the responsibility fell on Andre Russell and Rahul Tripathi, but the pair could not do anything. Russell was able to score 16 runs. Further Tripathi (16) also could not show any miracle. For Bengaluru, off-spinner Washington Sundar took 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs. Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (12 runs in 4 overs) achieved a breakthrough. Kohli used spinners at the right time to put pressure on KKR. Pacer Chris Morris took 2 (17 runs in 4 overs) wickets. Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini and Mo. Siraj got one success each.

KKR lost the wicket of opener Tom Benton in the power play, which was bowled by Navdeep Saini. But his partner Shubman Gill (34 runs) was run out for the team, he was in good rhythm, but wicketkeeper de Villiers brilliantly dismissed him. However, Finch also dropped Gill's catch earlier.

Nitish Rana (9) was bowled by Sundar before Gill. Due to this, the team lost three wickets for 55 runs. Now the team needed to play a batsman, but captain Karthik bowled Chahal in the 11th over after playing two balls, although he plays spin well, but the pressure showed on him.

England's limited overs captain Eoin Morgan succumbed to Sundar's ball in the next over. Andre Russell (16 runs off 10 balls with two fours and a six) started to come into color, he hit a six and two fours over Isuru Udana in the 14th over, but in an attempt to hit a big shot off the fifth ball, the cover But Mohammad was caught by Siraj.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a huge score of 194/2 with AB de Villiers's aggressive half-century innings of 73 runs in 33 balls and an unbeaten partnership of 100 runs for the third wicket with captain Virat Kohli (33 not out).

De Villiers hit 5 fours and 6 sixes during his innings with batting in the final overs. After not doing well in the previous matches, he was also desperate to play big innings and he showed his attitude as soon as he came.

De Villiers' aggression can be gauged from the fact that along with Kohli, he faced 33 balls out of 46 balls. With this, the team added 83 runs in the last five overs.

KKR bowler Kamlesh Nagerkoti (36 runs in 4 overs) conceded only 17 runs in 3 overs. But in his fourth and 16th over of the team, de Villiers hit a four after sending consecutive balls for sixes. Which added 18 runs in this over. De Villiers' aggression started from here.

Kohli, who returned to form by playing an unbeaten 90-ball 52 against Chennai Super Kings, also allowed de Villiers to play more balls and played well with him at the other end, playing 28 balls which included only one four.

Opening for RCB to bat after winning the toss, Aaron Finch also managed to come back after the last three poor performances and scored 47 runs (four fours and a six in 37 balls) and Devdutt Padikkal (32) first. Contributed 67 runs for 7.4 wickets.

During the match, KKR players missed a lot in fielding, which also benefited RCB, who scored 47 runs without losing wickets in the power play. RCB lost the first wicket as Padikkal, bowled by Andre Russell.

Finch was moving towards playing a big innings after a good start. But just three runs before the half-century, he was bowled on the famous Krishna's yorker in the 13th over, after which De Villiers played an amazing innings.
